Vehicle growth and their environmental impact

Economic Growth can be defined as consistent guidelines and regulations, the absent of social and economic distress, good flow of foreign capital, confidence and general social insecurity. Economic development and it growth have much advantage on the people .when it is properly plan, in absent of proper planning the result produce hazard instead of benefit on the people living in the society . When people have higher purchasing power, which shows there is improvement in economic growth. When people now earn a lot of money decision making now start on what to buy with the money, some end up buying houses, some luxuries cars and others may buy trucks e t c. The question for those buying cars are so many, such as: Can you drive? Can you maintain it? Do you know how to read Road signs? And so on. These questions are very important, because a lot of people bought cars and end up killing themselves and other members of there family or sustaining permanent deformity. Why? Because most of them have no knowledge of driving skill and use of the road/sign that is why we now have a lot of congestion on our road compared to some years back. Why not seek the knowledge of driving a car and some vehicle tip to be on the safer side, save your life, your family and other road users. The question that needs to be asked now are, how, when and where to seek for the proper knowledge of driving and maintaining of car. THE HAZARD OF INCREASE VEHICLE ON THE SOCIETY 1. We now experience serious congestion on our road compare to some years back 2. Road traffic accident on the increase 3. Environmental pollution is experience seriously 4 Death tolls as a result of road accident on the increase CAUSES OF THE INCREASED HAZARDS 1. Lack of acquisition of proper driving skill 2. Under age driving i.e below the age of 18 are regarded as less experience and cannot face difficult challenge on the highways, and driving is about confidence, skill and experience. 3. Vulnerability of our roads to accident .A lot of potholes as a result of over usage WHAT SHOULD BE DONE TO REDUCE OR REMEDY THE ABOVE HAZARD To avoid or reduce fatal accident on our highways the following steps are to be put into consideration: 1. Car owners or drivers should be trained in registered driving schools that are fully accredited and certified by the Federal Road Safety corps before obtaining driving license. 2. Issuance of driving license should be strictly on presentation of driving school certificate and ( avoid sentiment) . 3. The kick and go type of drivers must be checked because if the situation is not urgently arrested then more lives will continue to be lost on our roads 4. Maintenance culture of vehicles should be encourage which base on kilometers cover. 5. Managing old parts in our vehicle must stop such as tires /windscreen and numerous head light on trucks and cars. 6. Selecting a driver must not be compromise the right person must be chosen to do the job because is matter of life. The nation as a country give more priority on how to reduce H I V which are programmed by international organization and some other donors all over the world which is a welcome development, but area of road accident which claim more than hundreds of lives everyday, the evidence on most newspaper front or middle page showing how most accident claim innocent lives unlike HIV, which can be avoided and people that are affected can still think normal, work, and walk like other people. Not like the person lying down in hospital that may likely end up in the next minute due to injuries sustained in car accident cause by action of bad drivers on the highway. PEOPLE DIE MORE IN ROAD RELATED ACCIDENT THAN VICTIM OF HIV BY MY STATISTICS. THE QUESTION; IS IT THE ROAD, THE CAR OR THE PEOPLE? The country Nigeria has lost talented and gifted people through road accident due to carelessness of other drivers on our highways, people that would have contributed to the achievement of our targeted gold of vision2020, and general development, this effect to have serious problems on the family of the affected accident victims (if you have ever lost someone dear to you and more so as your breadwinner you will know what am talking about) if you must know these 10% of some drivers are already death on the steering before the actual accident occur sometime due to poor condition of health they slept off on the steering and some are victim of epilepsy they may not know they just assumed is minor dizziness they don’t go through normal medical check-up ,to them is time wasting. THE QUESTION, WHO IS YOUR DRIVER? DO YOU KNOW HIS MEDICAL CONDITION? BETTER SAY CAPITAL YES. EPILEPSY could catch up with driver on steering, may it never happened amen, but play your part well take good care of your driver. Because some boss sleep in more convenient place i. e good hotel and leave his driver to sleep in the car with thousand of mosquito’s and stress overnight and wake up middle of the day or night for the next journey. Stress lead to dizziness, dizziness lead to sleep, sleep lead to accident, accident lead to dead, and dead put some family in poverty hardship which have sociological effect.
