The House of Representatives Committee on Aviation Wednesday ordered the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, to return the controversial N225 million Naira bullet proof cars that were purchased during the tenure of the Former Aviation Minister, Princess Stella Oduah and recover the money.
Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Aviation, Hon.Nkiruka Chidubem Onyejeocha said that NCAA have no business keeping the cars stressing that the contract terms between NCAA and Cosharis Motors should be cancelled and the money recovered from the supplier. She made this call while on an oversight visit to the agencies at the Muritala Muhammed Airport, Lagos.
She said "What we said about the bullet proof cars is that, that contract should be cancelled that they don't have any business keeping the cars, it should be returned to the supplier and then recover our money".Hon. Onyejeocha further noted that due process was not followed during the purchase of the cars.
"We recommended that they should cancel the contract and recover our money, so those cars are not supposed to be parked, therefore, send the cars to the seller" she stressed.
Earlier, the acting Director General of NCAA, Engr. Benedict Adeliyela said that the bullet proof cars were parked at the NCAA's office in Abuja.
