The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Mr. MD Abubakar, today in Abuja decorated some newly promoted Senior Police Officers, led by an Assistant Inspector General, Grace Chita Okudo.
An official statement said the exercise was in line with the Police Administration's strategy of boosting the morale of Police officers through rewarding merit and excellence in law enforcement and other mandates of the Force.
Also decorated were Elias Okafor Wayemeru and Henry Adebayo Fadairo, both of them commissioners; as well as Assistant Commissioners of Police Yusuf Chiromawa Usman and Frank Mba, the Force Public Relations Officer.
The decorated officers are part of over 210 Senior Police Officers recently promoted by the Police High Command.Congratulating the newly promoted officers, the IGP emphasized the need for greater commitment to the current fight against terrorism and all forms of crimes and criminality, charging the officers to justify their elevation by rededicating themselves to their core mandate and the advancement of the positive image of the Force.
