Wear These Eyelashes, Go Blind

Many ladies desire full eyelashes but a lot of people are born without them. As a result, false eyelashes have become popularised and they come in various lengths and colours. As tempting as it is to wish these eyelash extensions were permanent, it is important for ladies to consider the dangers associated with their use.

The skin around the eyes are very thin and as such are prone to swelling and allergic reactions as a result of relatively high level of percutaneous absorption. The adhesive used to attach eyelash extensions may cause a reaction that could result in eyelid dermatitis since some contain formaldehyde. The eyelids may also develop blisters, itching, and redness. The lids may, overtime, become chronically inflamed and thickened.

Eyelash extensions should be used for a couple of days at the most in one fixing. Prolonged use results in irritation. Also, ladies should endeavour to let the natural eyelashes rest before attempting to fix again.

During removal of false eyelashes, there is the tendency to remove the false eyelashes alongside, resulting in absurd volume of eyelashes. False eyelashes also trap dirt and predispose individuals to bacterial, viral and fungal infections. Regular usage also results in blindness.

However, if the desire to use false eyelashes is strong, be sure to engage the services of an expert, ensure the environment and the person fixing is very neat and fix them as infrequently as possible.

Alas! Artificial beauty comes with a price.
