Two suspected Boko Haram members have been killed by Nigerian soldiers in Katsina state.
Confirming the incident on Friday, May 23, to journalists, the Commanding Officer of the 35 Battalion of the Nigerian Army in Katsina, Col. Alhassan Gerema said the troops raided a house at Filin-polo Quarters in the state, following a tip-off.
It was gathered from witnesses that the troops surrounded the hideout of the terrorists and a gun duel ensued between them and the suspects.
According to Col. Gerema, the two who lost their lives did so in the course of the operation.
He added that one other member was captured.
Residents are said to have vacated the area, following the incident.
