Militant group vows to fight Libyan general

Forces loyal to General Khalifa Hifter on Sunday stormed the parliament in the Libyan capital, Tripoli. An Al Qaeda-inspired group in Libya says it will fight secular troops loyal to a renegade general behind an attack on parliament the day before.

Forces loyal to General Khalifa Hifter on Sunday stormed the parliament in the Libyan capital, Tripoli. They said they suspended the house in a fight against lawmakers and officials whom they blame for allowing extremists to hold the country ransom.

The development was the latest in Libya's turbulence since the ouster of dictator Moammar Gadhafi.

In a video on militant websites, the Lions of Monotheism Group says Hifter's troops also attacked militias in Sunday's fighting.

A masked militant who identified himself as Abu Musab Al Arabi warns Hifter's forces: "You have entered a battle you will lose.
