'PDP Perfects New Rigging Method'- APC

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of perfecting a new electronic rigging method by plotting to hack into the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) database in order to temper with voters' register. This was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday in Osogbo, by the Director of Publicity, Research and Strategy, Kunle Oyatomi. He alleged that the move was against the forthcoming governorship elections in Ekiti and Osun states, and urged INEC to stop the plot by using its card readers in conducting the governorship elections in the two states. "A new strategy is allegedly under way by the PDP to rig the June 21 and August 9 governorship elections in Ekiti and Osun states respectively" he said. "Information at our disposal revealed that the PDP plans to hack into the INEC's data-base in order to penetrate and corrupt the voters register and disenfranchise thousands of voters by eliminating their names from the register". Meanwhile, the state PDP had asked governor Rauf Aregbesola, to prepare for his last dance out of the government house, describing as a 'reckless vituperations unbecoming of a governor'. This was made known in a statement issued by the PDP chairman, Gani Olaoluwa, where he accused the governor of using 'gutter words' in describing party chieftains and other notable Nigerians. In a reaction to the alleged rigging, Bola Ajao, Osun State PDP Publicity Secretary in an email sent to journalists, said "is unfortunate that APC; the so-called party that is saddled with all important responsibility of making life more abundant for all the people of Osun State will in their stay put mission impossible degenerate into a cocoon of lies". "It is bizarre that APC will resort to shadow chasing, mudslinging name calling against the very popular saying, he who lives in a glass house should not throw stones. It is apparent defeat is staring them in the face come August 9, 2014 Osun governorship election. he asserted. "While calling on the APC to substantiate its claims with proofs and genuine evidences, Ajao stated that "we challenge the party to prove this very wild allegation which is tantamount to subversion. We must state emphatically that we are not in the mould of fake police report to procure court judgment" Ajao said.
