Nigerian Military Arrests Boko Haram’s Cameramen

The Nigeria military recorded another victory in the campaign
against terrorism as it arrested a photographer that
specializes in taking pictures and making videos of Boko
Haram attacks on communities in the North-East.
The terrorist photographer,
alongside other terrorists, were arrested in a community in
Adamawa state during a patrol, surveillance and raid
operations to track fleeing terrorists in Adamawa environs.
The Director of Defence Information, Chris Olukolade, a
Major General, said Monday that four of the terrorists, who
tried to escape in an SUV with a digital camera and
weapons, have been taken into custody.
As the Nigerian troops continue to sustain their offensive
against terrorists in North-Eastern Nigeria, more arrests are
being made with the insurgents suffering heavy casualties,
officials said.
Maj-Gen. Olukolade said the arrested terrorists are
assisting the authorities in ongoing investigations in one of
the military barracks in the country.

“I’m a Woman, But I Hardly Wear Pant” – Ghanaian Actress Exposes Chest

I don't know how i will feel if i walk around without underwear but this actress here says she doesn't wear panties. I will understand why she doesn't wear those underwears but its kind of weird. Why would a woman not wear pant all because the edges will draw for people to know the size of it..lol.
Female celebrities all over the world, because of the nature of their jobs and their status in society have an exotic and often highly developed sense of fashion and s exy actress Baby Blanche is no different.
Due to the kind of clothes she likes to wear and is comfortable in, Baby Blanche has revealed in an interview with Showbiz that she hardly wears p anties when she's going out.
"I love all kinds of lingerie that make a woman feminine because I'm a woman, but I hardly wear p anties. This is not because I don't want to wear them but because the clothes I love to wear wouldn't permit me to," she told Showbiz.
"I try as much as possible to act as a lady and not to let my p anty lines show just because I like to wear dresses that hug my figure. So if I wear clothes and the outline of my p anty is glaring like that I don't like it," she explained. "Being a lady is not only about wearing make-up and Brazilian hair but also comprises the propriety of whatever you're wearing," says Baby Blanche.
Baby Blanche says she does not worry much about thoughts that she may be $exually attacked by unscrupulous men because she makes sure she doesn't go to awkward places at awkward times.
" I wouldn't ever put myself at risk by finding myself at an awkward place at an awkward time." Talking about her the progress of movie career, the actress says she refuses to be type-cast any longer in so-called '$exy' roles as had happened in the past, she now chooses roles that are challenging because as an actress she believes she should be able to play different roles.
"When I first get a script, I read it and think about it. Do I really want to do this job? Is the story catchy enough? I just don't say because I'm an actress I accept just any script. I read a script and if I'm interested, I give it a shot.
I want to be challenged this time around so I want daring scripts that would have more challenging roles," she explained. Having been out of the limelight for some time now she says she is back with a vengeance. "I've been away from movie sets for a while due to personal reasons.
But I've sat down and decided that this is where I belong and this is my passion. My family and my fans let me know that this is my talent and since then, I've done three movies so they should watch out. I'm coming back soon, better and rebranded." Baby Blanche was discovered by Socrates Safo of Movie Africa Productions and started acting about four years ago.
She has appeared in several movies helmed by the famed producer/director, including Hot F*rk, Adults Only, What s ex Can Do, among others.
She assures her fans of nothing but the best from her in subsequent movies. "I can assure my fans that anytime they see me in a movie it will be something they will really want to sit back and watch. I'm going to surprise a lot of people who do not know the depth of my talent," Baby Blanche says.
"I thank my fans for the support and the encouragement I've been getting on social media, like Facebook and Instagram. Had it not been them, there would be no point in me being out there. I thank them and everybody who wants me to come back. And I thank my enemies because they give me the urge to strive and give off my best," she added.
The s exy actress says the parts of her body she feels most comfortable flaunting on any day are her flat tummy and her legs. She says she does it only to 'tease a little'.

“I Feel Sexiest When I’m unclad” – Amber Rose

controversial model and estranged wife to Wiz Khalifa — Amber Rose, has made an revelation that doesn't seem like a surprise to me. She says she feels sexiest when she's unclad.
The 31-year-old beauty, who filed for a divorce from her hip-hop star husband, Wiz Khalifa earlier this year, has stated that she feels at her most attractive when she's not wearing any clothes.
Amber shared:'I feel sexiest when I'm unclad.'I'm all natural. I don't have fake b**bs or a fake b*tt.'
Amber, who has previously dated Kanye West, also revealed the traits she finds most attractive in a man.
She told Oyster magazine:'Anyone who can make me laugh can [capture] my heart, for sure.'
Amber also revealed she drinks'whenever I feel like it' and never wants to be asked 'to have a threesome', explaining she '[doesn't] share'.
What's more, the curvaceous star – who has a 22-month old son, Sebastian with her former husband – explained what she has learned from her previous relationships.
She said:'Not to give too much of myself … Save some for just me.'
This comes shortly after Nick Cannon – the estranged husband of Mariah Carey – denied having any romance with Amber.
In an interview with BBC Radio 1Xtra, Nick said:'I have not done a 'ting' with Amber Rose. It's the truth, it's the truth.'

Minna Prison Break: 108 Escaped Inmates Recaptured

108 inmates out of the 275
that escaped during a jail break at the Medium Security
Prison in Minna, Niger State last week, have been
recaptured, the Nigeria Prison Service has said.
It stated that the fugitives
were apprehended through the combined efforts of the
Nigerian Army, Police, Department of State Services, Prison
personnel and cooperation of surrounding communities.
However, 166 other inmates are still at large.
A statement by the NPS spokesman, Ope Fatinikun, on
Monday in Abuja, said the total number of inmates
presently in custody was 157 including 49 others that did
not escape.
It added that search for the other fugitives was ongoing.
The statement noted that the Comptroller-General of
Prisons, Dr. Peter Ekpendu, who was recently appointed in
the wake of the prison break, appealed to communities and
surrounding states of Kwara, Kaduna, Kebbi and the
Federal Capital Territory to be vigilant and to watch out for
any suspicious movement around and report such to the
nearest Police or Prisons formations.
"Once again, the Comptroller-General of Prisons wishes to
reassure the general public that from all investigations so
far, there was no external or Boko Haram attack in the
Prison's escape incidence", the statement added.

Obasanjo’s Book Out, Declares President Jonathan Incapable Of Governing Well

An attempt by Buruji Kashamu, a close associate of
President Goodluck Jonathan, to stop the publication of
a three-volume book by former President Obasanjo,
appears to have failed as SaharaReporters can confirm that
the book has gone into circulation. A source close to Mr.
Obasanjo confirmed to SaharaReporters late last night that
copies of the former president's exhaustive autobiography
were already available to buyers in print form. The source
that the book would soon be available in an electronic
version that is beyond the jurisdiction of Nigerian courts.
Cover of former President Olusegun
Obasanjo's book
SaharaReporters has already obtained and read sections of
the book scheduled for formal launch in Nigeria in a few
days.
The book, whose three volumes chronicle the life of the
controversial former president from birth till this year,
aroused political interest after SaharaReporters exclusively
reported that Mr. Obasanjo devotes significant pages to
paint an unflattering portrait of President Jonathan. We
reported that the book characterizes Mr. Jonathan as selfish,
weak-willed, callous and incapable of rising to the challenges
of running a complex country like Nigeria. Mr. Obasanjo
also accuses the president of surrounding himself with aides
and political associates with corrupt tendencies.
Mr. Obasanjo's book dedicates several parts in the book to
point out some of Mr. Jonathan's actions and inactions he
considers ill-advised or disastrous for Nigeria. He depicts
Mr. Jonathan as a man who has not only destroyed the
Peoples Democratic Party but also led Nigeria in dire
straights.
The book focuses on several instances of policy somersaults
by Mr. Jonathan as well as deliberate actions by the
incumbent president that have imperiled Nigeria's progress
in the opinion of Mr. Jonathan.
An Abuja-based lawyer and critic of Mr. Obasanjo accused
the former president of seeking to use the book to earn
cheap popularity, adding that Mr. Obasanjo cannot get away
from responsibility for "sponsoring President Jonathan's rise
to political prominence and the Presidency."
"We have been saying it from day one that President
Goodluck Jonathan does not have the qualities to become a
true leader, but we cannot forget that Chief Obasanjo
singlehandedly put him and the late President Umaru
Yar'Adua in office," the lawyer said.
Mr. Obasanjo's book also castigates former President Umaru
Yar'Adua, former Vice President Abubakar Atiku, and former
Governor James Ibori of Delta State, Bukola Saraki, among
other political foes.
In the book, the former president also makes an incredible
claim that he was never interested in pursuing a third term
while in office.
"That is a clear lie," said Mr. Obasanjo's critic. "To even deny
what is so obvious to every Nigerian shows that Chief
Obasanjo has little regard for the truth."

Boko Haram Will Never Stop If Jonathan Re-Emerges President—Governor Okorocha

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State, who is a
presidential aspirant on the platform of the All
Progressives Congress (APC), has said Boko Haram
insurgency would not end if President Goodluck Jonathan
gets returned as Nigeria's leader in the 2015 elections.
Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State
Mr. Okorocha made the declaration in Akure, the Ondo State
capital, during a visit to the state's secretariat of the APC with
his team to woo delegates to back him for the party's
presidential ticket.
The party has scheduled its presidential primaries for
December 10 in Lagos.
Mr. Okorocha said President Goodluck Jonathan had proved
incapable of handling the Boko Haram insurgency, adding
that the Islamist group's threat was becoming worse than
the Nigerian civil war. He accused officials of the Jonathan
administration of using the anti-insurgency campaign as a
"commercial business like buying and selling." He said the
officials benefiting did not want the insurgency to stop
because they were making money through the supplies of
arms and other gadgets.
The governor maintained that it would be difficult for the
present administration to fight if its still holdup to power in
2015 stressing that some people have already been making
millions out of the opportunity created by the PDP led
administration.
"If President Jonathan wins the forthcoming election Boko
Haram would never stop and if PDP has what it takes to stop
this carnage they would have done it a long time ago," the
governor said.
Governor Okorocha also blamed the PDP for the continued
existence of the dreaded Islamist group whose attacks have
claimed more than 30,000 lives. The APC presidential
candidate accused the PDP of being "corrupt and incapable"
of leading the country.
The governor added that Nigeria is in a turbulent period as a
result of poverty, greed, injustice and impunity orchestrated
by Mr. Jonathan's administration. He said Nigeria was
already in a state of war and that things might become
worse in 2015 if Mr. Jonathan emerges as the president. He
stressed that Northerners would not take it easy with
Southerners in the country.
The governor accused the top leaders of the PDP of using
Abuja as a center for spreading woes in the country, adding
that Nigeria has become deeply polarized.
"I think it's a wrong perception for people to be talking that
the next president must come from the north or the south
and should be a Muslim or Christian. This has further
divided us and made the country a polarized nation," said
Governor Okorocha.
He said Nigeria needs a dynamic leader with unbeatable
foresight and vision, adding that he was ready to defeat
President Goodluck Jonathan if given the party's ticket. He
urged Nigerians to give APC a chance to govern the country.
"If you put Jonathan and me together in the election, I will
defeat him in all the states of the federation," he said.
He also appealed to APC delegates not to sell their future at
the primaries, adding that they should rally around anyone
who emerges as the party's candidate in the 2015
presidential election.
"If [the] APC should lose the forthcoming election, there will
never be [a] strong opposition again in the history of Nigeria
and APC will die the way ANPP died because the party is the
last hope of opposition in the country. And if we didn't
succeed now then forget about it in the history of the
country," Mr. Okorocha said.

Ex-Borno Governor, Ali Modu Sheriff, In Secret Visit To Arms-laden Chad-bound Plane Detained In Nigeria

A former governor of Borno State, Ali Modu Sheriff, widely accused of sponsoring Boko Haram insurgents in Nigeria, may be lobbying for the release of the Chad-bound cargo aircraft confiscated in Kano for transporting large consignment of military hardware, PREMIUM TIMES can report today.
Sources at the Aminu Kano International Airport, where the plane is currently detained, said Mr. Sheriff visited the Kano airport at about 10 p.m. on Saturday and held discussions with some officials on the possibility of releasing the aircraft.
Our sources said on arriving the airport, officials allowed the former governor a secret tour of the aircraft, during which he inspected its consignments.
"I was there and I saw him and two airport security officials accompanying him to inspect the plane. I saw the black helicopters and two bullet proof SUVs," one of our sources said. "I also heard him (Mr. Sheriff) say verbal directive had been given from Abuja for the release of the plane but that authorities of the airport were insisting on written directive."
Mr. Sheriff could not be reached to comment for this story. His known mobile telephone number was switched off for several hours that PREMIUM TIMES called Saturday. He is also yet to reply a text message sent to him.
The Manager of the Kano Airport, a Mr. Adamu, told PREMIUM TIMES he is in Abuja and was therefore unaware of Mr. Sheriff's tour of the detained aircraft.
The former Borno governor is a close ally of both the Nigerian president, and the government of Chad – the plane's final destination.
A 2010 Intelligence report by a Nigerian security agency suggested that Mr. Sheriff was personally involved in the recruitment, training and dispatch of Boko Haram fighters, under the full cover of Idris Deby, the Chadian president.
Chad is Nigeria's neighbour. Laying on Nigeria's northeast shoulder, and sharing long distances of unregulated borders, it is considered a window to safety for Boko Haram fighters.
An Australian negotiator engaged by the Nigerian government to bring Boko Haram insurgents to the negotiation table, Stephen Davies, also spoke of how the insurgents named Mr. Sheriff as one of their sponsors during his conversations with the terrorists.
Airport officials told PREMIUM TIMES Mr. Sheriff's verbal pressures to let the plane go was turned down. He was asked to get written permission from "ogas at the top" – authority high up in Abuja – our sources said.
After inspecting the plane and holding discussions with local officials, Mr. Sheriff reportedly left for Abuja, Nigeria's capital city, in a private jet at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday.
Security operatives at the Kano Airport had seized the plane when it landed at the facility at about 2a.m. Saturday as a result of technical problems. Crew members of the airplane were immediately detained while investigations continued, officials said.
"Security has since been beefed up at the airport in order to ensure proper investigation," the officials added. The General Manager, Communications, Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, Yakubu Datti, confirmed the seizure of the plane.
He said the pilot sought permission to land at the airport after the plane developed problems. "The plane had a technical problem and the pilot sought (for) permission to land at the airport'', he said.
Mr. Datti said security agencies had since commenced investigation into the matter. Security sources told PREMIUM TIMES the plane was travelling to N'djamena, the capital of Chad. PR Nigeria, an agency known for distributing press statements on behalf of the Nigerian military, later circulated a statement saying the aircraft contained "a chopper tucked in it".
"… Intense investigation is ongoing including using diplomatic means to unravel the mission of the aircraft, its origin and destination," the statement said. This is the third time since 2009 that planes loaded with arms would be arrested in Kano, our correspondent says. The detained planes were later released after investigations.
The destination of the latest aircraft has however raised concerns amid increasing worries in Nigeria over Chad's alleged role in the Boko Haram insurgency plaguing Nigeria's northeast. The plane and its consignment was initially thought to originate from Russia but the Russian Embassy in Abuja issued a statement denying ownership of the AH-124-100 heavy military transport aircraft.
Air cargo experts describe it as one of the biggest serial and strategic heavy lifters in the world. It is intended for the transportation of heavy and oversized cargo and various special-purpose vehicles. Although in commercial use too, the Russian military is beloved to own 14 of the AN-124-100 version of the jumbo cargo jet, manufactured by the Russian Antonov.

Ashaka Aftermath: 67 Boko Haram Terrorists Die In Encounter With Troops

At least 67 terrorists died during a fierce battle for the
control of Ashaka, the host community of Ashaka
Cement Plant in Gombe state last Thursday.
Their colleagues managed to retrieve three truckloads full of
their members before their final retreat from the town,
which they stormed earlier on that day after suffering heavy
defeat in the hands of Nigerian troops.
Nigerian troops
The terrorists who had come in large numbers with heavy
equipment and convoy of over 30 vehicles including a
number of motor cycles, were on a mission to take control
of
Ashaka town, after they had operated in Bajoga and
environment in the state.
According to a tweet on Defence Headquarters handle
(last Friday December 5, 2015) noted that troops who got
wind of their intention to over run other towns pursued the
terrorists while some also laid ambush for them.
The terrorists were forced to abandon the mission when the
troops proved unyielding.
Most of the vehicles and equipment used by the terrorists
for their mission, were destroyed before they chose to flee
the location.
Unfortunately, more than 10 soldiers, paid the supreme
sacrifice during the battle while others who were wounded
are being treated in military hospitals
Meanwhile patrolling troops on Saturday had an encounter
with a group of terrorists in the Kwanta Yobe area.
Apart from a number of terrorists that died in the
encounter, some equipment and weapons including rapid
propelling guns (RPGs) tubes, machine guns and rounds of
different calibres of ammunition were also captured from
the terrorists.
No casualty was recorded on the part of the troops

Nigerian Troops Finally Clear Mubi Of Boko Haram, Seek Civilian Cooperation

The Nigerian Troops have completed the operation to
clear Mubi, Adamawa State of terrorists who had
mischievously renamed the town 'Madina' and operated
in the town and the environs.
Nigerian soldiers on patrol
A mop-up operation is nevertheless ongoing to apprehend
and deal with those who might be lurking around
neighbouring communities.
Members of the terrorists group were dislodged after
coordinated air and land operations in the area.
More special troops are being deployed to other areas in the
North-East axis in similar coordinated air and land
operations to rid the communities of terrorists' activities.
A top military officer told PRNigeria that that desperate
terrorists looking for escape routes may wreak havoc on
soft-targets in neighbouring communities that are not
affected in the military operation.
He said: "In their attempts to escape the intensity of military
offensives, desperate terrorists have resorted to attacking
soft-target in neighbouring communities.
The officer acknowledged improved understanding of the
communities on the military operation but seek for more
supports from the civilian population in identifying and
exposing members of terrorists group.
"The people must be courageous and brave enough in
identifying the terrorists that are mostly known to the locals
to enable the military curtail the excesses of the insurgents.
"We are working assiduously to also tackle activities of
moles, some very young who spy for terrorists and invite
them for invasion of communities. We need the cooperation
of the residents," he concluded.

President Jonathan Sends Frontline PDP Governors To Beg Most Prominent Critic, Obasanjo

President Goodluck Jonathan, who last week bragged that he
was a better leader than Olusegun Obasanjo and every
Nigerian leader since independence, today sent a powerful
delegation to the former president to plead support for his
re-election bid.
Obasanjo had described Jonathan's presidency as below
"average," and that the "head" [of the government] was
"rotten."
His delegation to Obasanjo's Hilltop mansion in Abeokuta
today included governors Liyel Imoke of Cross River State,
Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom, Sule Lamido of Jigawa,
Babangida Aliyu of Niger and Isah Yuguda of Bauchi State.
When they emerged from a closed door meeting, Obasanjo
told the media that they had only discussed the insecurity in
the country.
However, SaharaReporters learnt that the governors, who
were protégés of Obasanjo during his tenure, had been
asked to visit the former president to beg the former leader
to tone down his opposition to Mr. Jonathan.
Following Obasanjo's hard-hitting "Before It Is Too Late"
letter to Mr. Jonathan last December, the former leader has
in the past few months stepped up his attacks, underlining
the corrupt nature of Mr. Jonathan's regime.
In turn, President Jonathan's attack dogs tried to attack
Obasanjo frontally, but today's delegation to the retired
General suggests a strategy is at work.
In "Before It Is Too Late," Obasanjo warned had Jonathan to
learn the lessons of History and avoid taking Nigerians for
granted.
"Move away from culture of denials, cover-ups and
proxies and deal honesty, sincerely and transparently with
Nigerians to regain their trust and confidence," he advised.
"Nigerians are no fools, they can see, they can hear, they
can talk among themselves, they can think, they can
compare and they can act in the interest of their country and
in their own self-interest. They keenly watch all actions
and deeds that are associated with you if they cannot
believe your words. I know you have the power to
save PDP and the country. I beg you to have the courage
and the will with patriotism to use the power for the good
of the country. Please uphold some form of national core
values. I will appeal to all Nigerians particularly all
members of PDP to respect and dignify the Office of
the President. We must all know that individuals will come
and go but the Office will remain."
That advice was not heeded, but with the economy in
trouble and the 2015 elections fast approaching, Mr.
Jonathan seems to have decided to swallow his pride and
court his political benefactor.
Another factor in the equation is a revelation by
SaharaReporters last week that Obasanjo will shortly publish
a three-volume autobiography that specifically details
Jonathan's incompetence and complicity in corrupt
activities. That has reportedly sent further jitters into the
presidency, culminating in the decision to send a delegation
of governors known to be close to Obasanjo to beg him.
Sources say of the meeting that Obasanjo did not express
interest in a truce, reportedly telling his inner caucus that it
is too late to mend fences with Jonathan. Obasanjo has
probably concluded that he cannot now support Jonathan
publicly without losing face at home and abroad.
One of the governors who attended the meeting today said
they didn't get any commitment from the former Obasanjo.
"Baba didn't say much after we presented our case for
reconciliation. He referred us to the letter he sent to
President Jonathan and said he stands by every word in that
letter."
Our source said Obasanjo did not turn down the fence-
mending approach because he said he did the same with his
former arch-enemy, Abubakar Atiku when two of his
protégés, Professor Babalola Aborisade and Otunba
Oyewole Fasawe intervened on the former Vice-President's
behalf of Atiku and asked for a meeting.

Nigeria Police To Restore Speaker Tambuwal's Security

Police authorities are set to reinstate the security details
of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon
Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, weeks after it was withdrawn
in the wake of his defection from the PDP to the All
Progressives Congress (APC).
A source at the Nigeria police headquarters in Abuja indicate
that the police will hinge its decision on the emergence of
Tambuwal as the governorship candidate for the APC in the
forthcoming general election.
"We still believe the Speaker is not entitled to security based
on his decision to defect. The constitution is very clear on
that, and we are defending our position well in court.
"However, since Tambuwal is now a candidate of a major
political party in Sokoto, convention requires that the Police
protects him. The Federal Government takes the security of
leading candidates very seriously as such we will restore
security to Tambuwal and at the same time provide same
for all the leading candidates in all states of the Federation.
"If the Police feels at any given time that the security of
candidates is under threat, we are bound by law to come in
and provide security. If you recall really well, the
governorship candidate of the then ruling ANPP was
murdered in Borno very close to the election, since then we
reviewed our internal security arrangements and decided to
notch security around candidates a bit high," the source
stated.
When asked if the same number of men earlier withdrawn
from Tambuwal will be restored, the source declined to
answer, saying only that the police high command will
determine such a decision.
Reports indicate that the Federal Government has directed
all security agencies to ensure zero casualties especially of
candidates for the forthcoming elections. The directive is
said to be boosted by recent success of the government
troops in their fight against the insurgency in the North-
Eastern part of the country.
Speaker Tambuwal's office could not be reached for
comments.

Croc Kills Golfer

A South African golfer has been killed by a crocodile on the
course at the country's biggest game reserve, Kruger National
Park.
29-year-old Jacque van der Sandt was with friends retrieving
golf balls from a lake when he was taken by the beast and
dragged beneath the surface.
A two-hour search for the crocodile and his victim eventually
turned up Van der Sandt, who had tooth marks on his front
and back. The crocodile was also found, and was killed by
park rangers.
The victim, the son of a park employee, was at a golf course
next to a staff residential area on the world-famous reserve
where he had grown up.
He was in waist-deep water searching for balls beneath the
surface of Lake Panic, a stretch of water created by a dam
across a river, at the time of the attack
"One guy challenged the other to see who can retrieve the
most golf balls," police officer Oubaas Coetzer told AP.

“Where Is Gwoza Sef?” Jonathan Asks At Meeting With Emir

In a bizarre tale that illustrates how Nigeria is run, President Goodluck Jonathan arrived two weeks ago at a top secret meeting with the exiled Emir of Gwoza, the newly-named headquarters of Boko Haram's so-called "Islamic Caliphate," with no knowledge of the location of Gwoza, presidency sources at the meeting said.

He arrived in Abuja after first making his way to Maiduguri to escape further attempts on his life. His father, Idrissa Timta, had died in a Boko Haram ambush on May 30, 2014 as Boko Haram ambushed his convoy on his way to the burial of the Emir of Gombe.

Shortly after Timta's arrival in Abuja, President Jonathan sent for the Emir, who was accompanied to the meeting by a Borno Senator, Ali Ndume. However, to the utter shock of the Emir, President Jonathan did not know where Gwoza was located: Adamawa or Borno State.

Presidency sources said silence enveloped the room after the President, apparently lacking basic research or a briefing by his numerous aides and security agencies, asked in condescending pidgin, "Where's Gwoza sef?"

Mr. Jonathan then promised to 'liberate' Gwoza after Senator Ndume told him Gwoza was his home town and that it is located in Borno State.

Gwoza remains under the control of Boko Haram after the sect took over the township in a raid and declared the town the headquarters of the "Islamic Caliphate" in the Northeast of Nigeria.

At least three attempts by Nigerian troops have been repelled by the militants.  Several soldiers and innocent civilians were killed.

Thousands Flee Bama As Nigerian Troops Engage Militants

Thousands of Bama residents in Borno State have fled to the town of Kawuri as heavy gunfire continued near the town as Nigerian troops battle militants belonging to the Islamist group, Boko Haram.

The militants stormed Moraraba village near Bama, the second most populous city in Borno State, in the early hours of Monday. According to refugees who fled, the militants started shooting sporadically as they entered the town.

Nigerian troops and members of the civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) engaged the militants, and the conflict was ongoing at the time of the filing of this report.

The fighting, which has lasted several hours, appears to have weakened the militants. A security source told SaharaReporters that many of the insurgents came from Gwoza, a major town recently seized by the militants.

A Maiduguri resident, Modu Bukar, said, "My mother called me this morning to come and pick them at Kawuri village. She said they left Bama due to heavy shooting near the town now. I am just confused," he said.

Another source told our reporter, "Nigerian troops were seen heading towards Bama in the morning to assist those at the 21st Brigade barracks which was recently relocated to Bama."

Moraraba is about 10 kilometers from Bama, where at least 16 militants were apprehended and killed yesterday by local vigilantes.

SaharaReporters revealed in an exclusive report yesterday that Boko Haram militants were planning a major attack on the state capital, Maiduguri. Bama is less than 40 kilometers from Maiduguri.

Soldiers Abandon Bama Battle Front As Air Force Jets Bomb Barracks

About 500 soldiers have fled the battle front in Bama after initially overwhelming Boko Haram militants who tried to take over the city earlier today.

Bama is the second largest city in Borno State, after Maiduguri, the state capital.

Saharareporters sources said the militants arrived in Bama as early 5:30a.m.but met stiff resistance from soldiers in the city.  As the battle drew into the evening, however, about 500 soldiers initially drafted in to fight the insurgents fled to Maimalari Barracks in Maid, with thousands of civilians fleeing the city.

Trouble started when an Air Force jet sent in to assist the ground troops bombed the Bama Barracks after civilians that had sought refuge there were sent away by soldiers who then abandoned their weapons and sought to flee with the civilians.  A few minutes later, the jet bombed the barracks, leading to casualties on the side of soldiers.

A military source told SaharaReporters tonight that Bama has become vulnerable and may be taken by the militants, who are believed to have gone for reinforcements.

Earlier today, over 50 militants were reportedly killed in fighting in Moraraba village, near Bama.  Hundreds of Bama residents were reported to have streamed into Maiduguri, where they are lodging in Mairi Day Government Secondary school on Bama Road.

Soldier Shoots High Court Judge, Son In Kaduna

Justice Hajara Gwadah of the Kaduna State high court and her son, Saminu Gwadah, were on Sunday shot by a soldier in full Nigerian army fatigues, at the junction of Ali Akilu and Alkali roads by SCOA, in Kaduna metropolis, Kaduna State.

According to Leadership, the husband of the high court judge and former legal adviser of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Barrister Bitrus Gwadah, who confirmed the tragedy, said it occurred at about 9.am while his wife and son were on their way to church.

"My son was driving, and in front was a civilian car which was itself following a jeep/Toyota Hilux full of armed army personnel. My son, as were the two vehicles in front of him, was slowing down for traffic control. Suddenly, he saw a soldier in the open jeep, which was beginning to turn into Alkali road, cock his gun and shoot at him" he said.

Barrister Gwadah further revealed that after his son had managed to pull over the car following the shock he suffered at the moment. It was observed that the car bonnet was smoking, and when it was opened it was discovered that the bullet had destroyed the radiator, the compressor, part of the engine block and some other mechanical parts.

He added that the vehicle conveying the soldiers also pulled over on Alkali road, where two armed soldiers in battle mode approached them and said they were too close and warned them not to try it again. He said the soldiers went back to their jeep and zoomed off.

Meanwhile, the state has been violent ridden for some time now following the activities of insurgents in the Northern part of the country. It would be recalled that on August 6, 2014, Policemen in Unguwar Rimi area of  Kaduna state, also shot dead a 21-year-old female student of the School of Science and Health Technology, identified as Fauziyya Sulaiman. Also on August 7, 2014, suspected Fulani gunmen reportedly launched an attack on Gimi Dogara village, Sanga Local Government Area of the state, killing at least four people.

See The Juicy Details On Pastor Chris Oyakhilome and Anita Divorce

Remember months ago when rumors emerged about the divorce of Pastor and Chris and his wife on a Facebook page created by some of his church members? Well, I just went back to check up on them and this is what I found.

The page had shared this memo you are about to read last week, then news about Pastor Anita filing for divorce emerged yesterday.

Read below: -

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

It is very interesting that we requested the closure of this page and were informed that in 14 days, the page will shut down. But… its still here! What happened?

The Lord needs the page open! The purpose obviously has not been achieved. There is a huge question still hanging – "Where is Rev. Anita Oyakhilome?"

I believe the Lord allowed our silence to show us and all of you who are concerned about the ministry just how deep the problems are.  It is not surprising the negative, abusive and insultive comments people have come here to make against others because they decided to stand up for truth and speak up.

The truth is that most of these people know the truth but the devil will not give up
without a fight. Some of these people were sent here by the leadership of the ministry thinking that a couple of barks will scare people away and finally shut down the page. What they do not realise is that our God is not a sentimental God and when He puts His hands on a thing, that thing becomes unstoppable. No matter what anybody says, does or thinks.

It is important for us to realise that Rev. Anita did not just leave, this is the move of the Spirit. There is no one else He could have moved in this way to cause a shaking for change. Plus, He could use her because she has never been a part of the evil. The Lord just separated her from the start and she gave herself to worshipping the Lord in Spirit and in Truth from the start.

When Pastor Chris moved her and the children to the UK and seemed to separate himself from his family, little did he know that the Lord was going to use his unfair thoughts and actions for the good of Rev. Anita and all His children who the ministry have smartly and are still trying to smartly lead away from God. The wisdom of man can never match the wisdom of God.

While, Pastor Chris is not making, I repeat, not making any moves to reconcile with his wife, he still needs her name and face in his materials to keep them attracting people and selling. How deceitful is that? Her name and face still appear on some Rhapsody of Realities articles she did not write. The authors of Rhapsody of Realities remain Pastors Chris and Anita Oyakhilome, even though she is completely out of the picture. And that is what some people hang on to to debunk the fact that she is no longer in the picture.

They initially tried to take her face and name off but realised quickly that it would be bad business for them. So, what next, keep her face and name on but her presence of course is not required. Well, not anymore! This is no longer the time of business as usual. Not at all!

Dear Pastor Chris, God is a merciful God. You know that. We still love you and will stand with you if you make the change. There is still time to make the required changes. You know very well the changes God needs you to make. Our thinking that the marriage is what needs fixing, is misplaced. The marriage breakdown is the result of the heart turned away from God.

Turn your heart back to your first love and the restorer will restore all. Yes, there would be unveiled dirty secrets but the merciful Lord will not allow it to be as bad as it would be if you do not make the change. When a leader makes a wrong turn, its the people that suffer most. After David numbered Israel and the people began to die as a result of his actions, David repented, but God gave him some options for his purnishment. David quickly took the option for God to deal with him by Himself. Why? He preferred for the Lord's direct purnishment and not his enemy's because as he declared, God is a merciful and kind God. That God has not changed.

Man's love is fickle. Just a little while longer and all those who have been rally around you, praising you on that all this will not lead anywhere, will begin to plot their quiet departure when they realise the brand "Pastor Chris" is no longer working for them. It is important for us to mention here that some of the writers on the page are your or informed by your close lieutenants.

This word is enough for now. This page is up and running!

Nigeria Army Imposes Dusk-To-Dawn Curfew In Maiduguri

The 7th Divisional headquarters of the Nigerian army has imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew in Maiduguri, Borno state capital. The curfew will persist until further notice according to a terse announcement by the army.

The army reportedly took the action to forestall a plot by Boko Haram militants to seize Maiduguri; a plot earlier revealed by SaharaReporters.

Nigerian troops are currently battling the militants in Bama some 40 miles from Maiduguri.

Divorce Scandal: Anita Oyakhilome’s Name Removed From Christ Embassy Church Website

The divorce mess between Pastors Chris and
Anita Oyakhilome of Christ Embassy Church has
worsened, P.M.NEWS can reveal.
On Sunday, two days after it was reported that
Anita Oyakhilome had filed for divorce, Christ
Embassy deleted her pictures and personal
information from its official website,
www.christembassy.org.
Many describe the action as the beginning of a
process to shut her out of the church, after she
accused her husband of "adultery" and
"unreasonable behaviours" in a divorce suit
filed in London last April but only made public
on Friday.
Christ Embassy's new website now shows only
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, with a broad smile
welcoming his followers to the month of August,
and tagging it, 'Month of Praise'.
In the message on the website, Oyakhilome
also urges his followers to "rejoice for the joy of
the Lord is your strength."
Also, on the website of the Rhapsody of
Realities, a daily devotional co-authored by the
esrtwhile couple, there's nothing to show that
Anita is still recognised as the only visible face
on the website among the family members is
that of her husband.
It was too early to know if the September
edition of the Rhapsody of Realities still has the
photographs of both the pastor and his wife as
it used to be.
In the past, when the going was good, Anita and
Chris Oyakhilome held hands on the church
website and smiled broadly. They projected the
image of a perfect couple.
But P.M.NEWS checks at the weekend revealed
that there is confusion in the church following
the divorce suit filed by Anita to end her over
two decades marriage to the founder of Christ
Embassy Church.
In the past, Pastor Chris headed the Nigerian
branch of the church, though he travelled to
other branches occasionally, while Anita
headed the branch in London and its environs.
Christ Embassy and its founder have been
embroiled in a myriad of controversies in the
past. In 2010, Oyakhilome was accused of
engineering a money laundering scheme in
Nigeria, and questions swirled around his
finances because of his glamorous lifestyle.
Many pastors and theologians also excoriated
Oyakhilome for his "New Creation" doctrine—a
form of gnosticism that says after a person
becomes a Christian, any sin they commit is
only in the body and will not affect the spirit.
In 2008, Oyakhilome's reputation as a faith
healer was tarnished badly in Johannesburg,
South Africa, when a man told a Soweto
newspaper that Christ Embassy offered him
more than $1,200 to sit in a wheelchair and
pretend to be crippled until Oyakhilome prayed
for him.
"The man went to the media instead of taking
the money, sparking concerns that healings
were being faked to impress growing crowds,"
said Lee Grady in an article in 2012 published
by Charisma Magazine.
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome has also been a target
of criticism by the Treatment Action Campaign
for his support of faith healing to cure HIV.
is support of faith healing to cure HIV.
Allegations that Christ Embassy members are
reportedly being forced to give huge sums of
money in offerings with the biggest donors
receiving the biggest awards have left many
people concerned.
Many Nigerians have also alleged that the
church operates like a cult and pressures
members to marry only within Christ Embassy.
Many people also remember the scandal
involving Christ Embassy and Sheraton Hotel
some years ago when a member of the church,
who worked at the Sheraton Hotel, stole money
from his employers and gave it to Christ
Embassy. But when Sheraton approached the
church for reimbursement, the church allegedly
claimed that the money had been given to God
and could not be refunded.
Many also excoriated Pastor Chris some years
ago when the church began collecting gate fees
from members for their New Year Eve's Service.
More recently, Oyakhilome came under attack
after he claimed that Christians were free to
masturbate because it was not a sin.
But the latest scandal involving Anita and Chris,
who have two daughters, seems to threaten the
very existence of one of the biggest churches in
Nigeria.
Christ Embassy runs several arms including the
Healing School, Rhapsody of Realities, and an
N.G.O called the Innercity Missions as well as
three Christian television channels: LoveWorld
TV, LoveWorld SAT and LoveWorld Plus.
The church is scattered all over the world,
including in the United Kingdom, the United
States, South America and the whole of Europe.
Stories about women bringing men of God
down are not new. In 1988, Jimmy Swaggart, a
famous American preacher was implicated in a
sex scandal involving a prostitute that resulted
initially in his suspension, and ultimately
defrocking, by the Assemblies of God.
Three years later, Swaggart was implicated in
another scandal involving a prostitute. As a
result, Swaggart's ministry became non-
affiliated, non-denominational and significantly
smaller than it was before the scandals.

Boko Haram Planning Attack To Seize Maiduguri

A senior military official in Abuja has told SaharaReporters that militants belonging to the Islamist group, Boko Haram, were planning a major assault to attempt the takeover of Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State. The source assured that the Nigerian military was closely gathering intelligence on the attack, and would be prepared to repel any attack on the important northeast Nigerian city of Maiduguri.

Boko Haram militants
The military source disclosed that the Islamist insurgents had been moving arms and some of their most experienced fighters to locations near Maiduguri in order to facilitate the attack.

"We have identified that one of their major operational bases is 10 miles from a major [Nigerian] army barracks, known as Giwa barracks," said the officer.

He added that army officials in Abuja became aware of the plan to attack Maiduguri after Boko Haram operatives stormed and took over the town of Dikwa in Borno State shortly after the Nigerian military withdrew most of the soldiers previously stationed in the area to Bama in preparation for a major attack on Gwoza.

Our military source said the militants were also stockpiling weapons in Uye, Dafarda and Yamtake. "We are aware that Boko Haram is using their Camp 4 in Gwoza to train a special unit for the attempt to take over Maiduguri," he said. The insurgents recently seized Gwoza in a massive offensive that also enabled them to overrun and capture a police mobile training college located near Gwoza.

The army officer disclosed that Boko Haram insurgents have devised a plan to use Sojiri, a town about an hour's drive from Maiduguri, as a staging ground for their planned major attack on Maiduguri.

"I can assure you that the Nigerian Army is ready to defend Maiduguri," the officer said, adding that the residents of Maiduguri have no reason to panic. According to him, the army is gradually improving its intelligence gathering on the activities of Boko Haram. He said the military would use ground troops as well as aerial bombardment to scuttle the insurgents' plots.

Meanwhile, wives of soldiers and families have begun moving out of Giwa and Maimalari barracks to escape the impending attack.
The wife of a soldier told SaharaReporters today that a signal has been secretly circulated to soldiers in Maiduguri secretly be on red alert. She said several soldiers were moved to Bama leaving Maiduguri vulnerable to attack.

Boko Haram Invades Bama, Meets Resistance From Nigerian Troops

Boko Haram militants have invaded Bama, the second largest city in Borno state with the aim of taking over the town, but residents told Saharareporters that Nigerian troops in city have resisted the terrorists leading to a huge fire fight.

Several civilians including the Emir of Bama have already fled to the state capital Maiduguri to avoid being caught in the crossfire. Eyewitnesses said that the sect arrived the vicinity of Bama early today and began firing mortars, RPGs and hurling grenades into the city.

The battle was still raging as at the time of publishing this report.

Bama is a strategic city with over 500,000 inhabitants. If the sect captures Bama with all the military hardware in the city, then it just days away from capturing Maiduguri which less than 40 miles from Bama.

Eagles Depart For Brasilia On Friday Ahead France Tie

The national team, Super Eagles, will travel out of their camp in Campinas on Friday evening to Brasilia for their Monday round of 16 tie against France.
A statement issued from Brazil on Thursday by Ben Alaiya, the Super Eagles Media Officer, said all logistics had been perfected for the trip by FIFA in conjunction with the team.
It said that the injured midfielder, Babatunde Michael, had undergone a successful surgery on his fractured wrist and returned to camp, ahead of the trip to Brasilia.
"Unfortunately, he (Babatunde) is ruled out of the tournament because it will take at least three weeks for that surgery to heal.
"We are sad about that but we have people who can fill in for him very well and I think we have to win France for him," Keshi added.
Keshi said Nigerians should not fret over the development as there were capable replacements for the player.
The statement also quoted Keshi as saying that Moses would return to action in the match against France after the injury he sustained in the game against Iran.
"Moses has a muscle strain that was discovered by the team's medics after the first game against Iran.
"He was advised to rest it so that he can come out better in subsequent games.
"We can understand that all players want to play at the big stage.
"It is, however, up to us and the medical team to manage their career and balance it with due diligence regarding their health.
"That is why we have not played him,'' the statement quoted Keshi as saying.
Moses, it would be recalled, watched the last game from the stands with technical officials and was not dressed for the encounter.
Keshi also took exception to news that his players said they would not play the next game because they had not been paid.
"We don't have money issues here; I talk to the players and the NFA leadership everytime.
"So, I wonder what some people want to achieve by always drawing us back from our set goals,'' he said.

Kanye/Kim Kardashian Marriage On The Rocks

Sources are saying that Kim and Kanye's marriage is on the rocks according to multiple sources.

The sources say that Kanye is tired with Kim's hoarding of clothes and shoes, which she will never use.

The sources said: "Kim rents two storage lockers and had two rooms in her old house reserved for piles of clothes and shoes she never wears." "She also keeps years of backdated magazine and newspaper clippings that she's been mentioned in.

Kanye doesn't mind that Kim is so self-involved; he just wishes she was more organized about it. He told her to scan it onto a hard drive and to toss the paper trail "They had their first major post-wedding fight after Kanye threw out boxes of Kim's hoarded items because Kanye says Kim's crap is wrecking his design aesthetic."

"They don't see eye to eye on this topic. Kim was furious after Kanye told her she should go on a show like 'Hoarders.' He warned Kim that he can't live with her if she continues to stockpile useless goods."

Kim have confessed on her show that she is a hoarder. Meanwhile Kim is tired of Kanye's over controlling behavior, it is said that she was pissed off not to sell her wedding pictures. Which was rumoured to have been worth up to 11 million dollars.

Bomb Scare In UNIJOS As Alleged Suicide Bomber Sighted

The University of Jos, Plateau state was thrown into chaos, with lecturers and students fleeing the campus following a bomb scare.

It was reported that an alleged suicide bomber was sighted who was apprehended by the students as he tried to enter the premises, according to Punch.

As a result of the alarm raised by the students, it caused pandemonium in the university as people ran for safety.

However some students summoned up courage to capture the alleged bomber, who was almost beaten to a pulp before he was rescued by the school security.

This is coming less than 24 hours after bomb blast rocked Abuja which killed 21 people and injured 17.

Immediately the news went round, even students and teachers in lecture halls thought it wise to abandon their books as they took to their heels for dear life.

It would be recalled that on May 20, a twin bomb explosions rocked Jos which left over 200 people dead and scores injured in the blast.

Seven University of Jos students were also killed in the bomb blast.

Following the Jos bomb blast in May, it was reported of another bomb scare which forced residents to remain indoors as schools, banks were shut down.

Lagos Explosion Was A Car Bombing

Almost twenty four hours after an explosion happened on Tuesday, 25 June, 2014, night on Creek Road near the Burma Road junction in Apapa, Lagos State, western Nigeria, security sources are saying the explosion was a car bombing.

This is contrary to information sent out earlier today by the Lagos State Government officials that the explosion, which eyewitnesses reported to have occurred around 9:15pm on Tuesday, came from a gasoline tanker parked beside a gasoline depot in Apapa.

Premium Times reports that two security sources disclosed that the explosion was apparently carried out by a female suicide bomber and was aimed at igniting several gasoline depots in the area.

It was gathered that a security source said the explosion could have triggered a massive inferno and inflicted a horrifying scale of casualties in the Apapa area, which serves as residential area as well as the hub of economic activities, including shipping, manufacturing, and storage of petrochemical products.
The source informed that said the suicide bomber apparently planned to ignite a series of gas distribution plants and gasoline depots owned by Folawiyo Energy some 150 meters away from the site of the explosion.

Earlier reports stated that at least four persons were killed by the explosion, among them the female suicide bomber who drove a Mercedes Benz car that caused the explosion.

Those that got to the scene of the bomb blast opined that the head of the female driver lay on the ground next to the Mercedes Benz used in the bombing.

Commenting on the explosion, the Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Mr. Kehinde Adebayo, had told reporters that the explosion was from a gasoline tanker.

Also, officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) told SaharaReporters that the incident was a fire outbreak on Commercial Road in Apapa.

The Federal emergency officials said they were denied entry to the scene of the car bomb and were excluded by Lagos officials from participating in the rescue and recovery process.

No group has claimed responsibility for the apparent car bomb and will be the first in Lagos since the Boko Haram insurgency entered its most violent stage in 2009.

The United Nations, UN, some weeks ago blacklisted the Islamists militant group saying the sect had killed over four thousand lives since 2009.

Terrorism: “Boko Haram wants to divide Nigeria’s unity” – Navy

The Nigerian Navy says the Boko Haram sect is out to destroy and break the unity of Nigeria.

This is coming on the backdrop of the continuous attacks on innocent citizens, with most recent bombings in Abuja, Kano, Kaduna and Adamawa states.

The Chief of Naval staff, Vice Admiral Suleiman Jubrin, who made this observation, affirmed that the acts of terrorism was becoming excessive.

Vice Admiral Jubrin said this on his visit to the MNS Pathfinder Base in Port Harcourt.

He called on Naval officers and other security agencies to be up and doing in the fight against the insurgents.

According to him, "Members of Boko Baram do not love this country. They want to destabilize us and we must not succumb. We must unite and fight the menace of Boko Haram.

"We are succeeding and we must continue to check them until we push them out of this county. They are enemies of this nation and we must deal with them excessively the way we deal with criminals on the war front.

"They are not to be spared because they are enemies of this nation".

He also noted that efforts by Naval officers in the country had drastically reduced the trend of oil theft in the Niger-Delta.

While commending the Navy for its protection of Nigeria's territorial waters, Jubrin disclosed that the rate of stolen crude oil had reduced from over 4 million ballers a month to about 1 million barrels.

He said: "We have recorded very huge success in meeting the expectation of the Nigerian Navy. We have reduced oil theft to the barest minimum.

"What used to be about 4.2 million barrel loss monthly, has been reduced to 1 million barrel a month.

"By the time the report we recorded in oil theft in May is published, you will agree with me that it will reduce to the likelihood of about 5 hundred thousand barrels.

"I think it is a huge success that members of the Nigerian Navy should be celebrating".

PanaTV Acquires Rights to Stream Half Of A Yellow Sun in the US and Exclusively in the UK

A select agreement with the London-based Soda Pictures has given Africa's PanaTV the streaming rights to the internationally celebrated film 'Half Of A Yellow Sun.' The deal is significant for the budding network, as it will be the first to stream the film exclusively in the United Kingdom.

A related deal with the monterey media company in the United States grants PanaTV the non-exclusive rights to stream the 2013 drama in the US, plus a limited shared exclusive pre-window.

The movie will be available for VOD in the US, from June 29th, and in the UK, from August 2014.

Half Of A Yellow Sun, adapted from Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's best-selling, Orange Prize-winning novel of the same title, has been lauded internationally for its heartrending illustration of Nigeria's Biafran War, a conflict that collides with each character's life in a distinct way.

Written and produced by Nigerian playwright, novelist, and screenwriter Biyi Bandele, Half Of A Yellow Sun stars Academy Award-nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years A Slave), BAFTA award winner Thandie Newton (Crash), Anika Noni Rose (The Princess And The Frog), John Boyega, Onyeka Onwenu, Joseph Mawle, Genevieve Nnaji and O.C. Ukeje.

Controversy has surrounded the film, however, as The National Film & Videos Censors Board (NFVCB) of Nigeria recently asked film exhibitors in a May 27 letter to "expunge/edit some clearly stated objectionable aspects". The objections arose out of concern for national security, the board states.

"The Board dutifully exercised due diligence, consonant with section 36 (1) (b) of NFVCB Enabling Law ACT 1993, CAP N40 LFN 2004, which stipulates that 'a decision on a film shall ensure that such a film is not likely to undermine national security'," Caesar O. Kagho, Acting Head of Corporate Affairs for the censors board stated.

"The NFVCB restates its position that Half Of A Yellow Sun was not banned as speculated," Kagho furthered. The NFVCB has not provided public detail on which "objectionable aspects" of the film they want edited or removed. Following the resolution of the highlighted issues, they state, the board will assign a rating for the film and it will be released to the public.

Despite the controversy surrounding the film in Nigerian theaters, the news of the PanaTV deal is promising to other international viewers who are interested in seeing Half Of A Yellow Sun.

Regarding the arrangement, Louise Rae, Head of Home Entertainment at Soda Pictures said: "We are delighted that Half of a Yellow Sun will be streaming on PanaTV, and believe it is a great home for the film to connect with audiences."

Echoing this, Mandy Roger, PanaTV's Head of Content said "This demonstrates that we seek out high quality films for our viewers; expect to see more of such quality films and content on PanaTV this year."

Half Of A Yellow Sun will be one of the first major features PanaTV will air, as the online television service is slated to officially launch in mid-2014. PanaTV aims to offer over 8,000 hours of quality films, music videos, sports, kids, and lifestyle programming.

Adamawa is one of the three states under emergency rule due to the activities of the Boko Haram insurgents.
Move details to follow as police and military officials investigate the bombing site.

Ritualists’ Den Uncovered In Lagos, 8 Kidnapped Victims Rescued

A ritualists' den was, yesterday, uncovered at Ogolonto area of Ikorodu Lagos, with at least eight victims, said to have been kidnapped from different parts of the country, rescued.

One of the victims, a 52-years old man, who identified himself simply as Onwurah, alleged that his wife had a hand in his kidnap, saying he had spent two years in the enclave.

The den was uncovered following a foiled attempt by a mother of four to take one of her victims, a seven years old boy, to the den.

The woman identified as Mrs Rosemary Chukwu, who resides at 33, Omologede Street, behind C&S Primary School, allegedly abducted the seven-years old primary school pupil, Emmanuel Emeka, on his way to fetch water from a public well at about 6.30 a.m, Vanguard had learnt.

Chukwu was alleged to have kept the boy inside her toilet and engaged her four children in a prayer session, apparently to prevent her con tenants from hearing the abducted boy's cry for help.

Meanwhile, back in the abducted boy's home, located four buildings from his captors, his mother became apprehensive over his unusual delay. She was said to have raised alarm which caused residents to conduct a search round the neighborhood for Emeka.

Eye witnesses told Vanguard that Chukwu even went out and suggested areas where the search party could search for the missing boy. She was said to have been sighted with a suitcase on her head, accompanied by her children.

An eye witness, who gave his name as Oyetoye Gbemi, said: "She told us she was travelling to the village. But one of the area boys who was among the search party, ordered his colleagues to search the box.

"Immediately she heard that, she flung the box away and took to her heels. We all suspected something was amiss. When the box was opened, Emmanuel was found inside, half dead.

"The area boys descended on her and stripped her unclad. On interrogation, she said her pastor, the General Overseer of Holy Family Ministry a.k.a House of Mercy, asked her to bring the boy.

"The area boys followed her to 319, Lagos Road, Ikorodu, where the church is situated, where they saw her pastor waiting for her. But on sighting the crowd, he took to his heels.

"But for the arrival of Policemen from Owutu division, the woman would have been lynched. The angry mob also attempted to set the church ablaze but were also prevented by the policemen. They, however, succeeded in torching some parts of the property."

When Vanguard arrived the scene, a crowd had gathered, giving varying accounts of what happened.

But to the astonishment of all, another building alleged to be used for ritual purposes by Pastor Ernest Nwankwo was discovered.

The building located at 7, Oshodi Street, was behind the church. It was gathered that some miscreants uncovered the building while they were chasing the fleeing pastor.

The mob was said to have forced some apartments in the building open, where they found an undisclosed number of persons in chains.

The victims were said to have recounted how they were kidnapped from Anambra, Bayelsa, Ogun and Oyo states at different times. One of them, according to eye witnesses, who pleaded anonymity, said she was kidnapped 11 years ago.

According to an eyewitness, "the woman said she is about 50 years old and that she was kidnapped along the Lagos/Ibadan expressway while returning from a vigil.

"The rest were males and were wearing briefs. They looked haggard and tired. The area boys set them free when they opened the apartments. I believe some of them should be with the police.

"There were also 'Ghana must go' bags of currencies . The area boys looted some of the things they met before the arrival of the Police." [Vanguard]

Mysterious Snakes, Bees Fight Boko Haram Members In Sambisa Forest - Arrested Insurgent Reveal

Boko Haram members are reportedly fleeing Sambisa forest to areas across Borno state owing to what they they believe is spiritual attack as they are being attacked by mysterious snakes and bees.

This was revealed by one of the insurgents, Kolo Mustapha who was arrested yesterday at Mairi ward behind University of Maiduguri by members of the Civilian JTF vigilante group, Vanguard reports.

Kolo said, "most of us are fleeing because there are too many snakes and bees now in the forest. Once they bite, they disappear and the victims do not last for 24 hours. We were told that the aggrieved people who had suffered from our deadly mission, including the ghosts of some of those we killed, are the ones turning into the snake and bees."

He added that some of their leaders have fled to Cameroon because they could easily be identified by security agents in Nigeria if they flee to any part of the country.

Another arrested sect member, Umar Abor, said they have fought in Marte, Bama, Buni Yadima and Gwoza but they were not part of the Chibok attack and they have not seen the girls though they have heard about it because their leaders have been talking about it and they've been following all news on radio.

"They (our leaders) told us that it was our enemies and aggrieved people that are hunting us through diabolical means. We were in the forest in 2010 and 2011. We left and came back last year but we have never experienced such attacks. That is why they believe the Chibok people are using juju to pursue us because of their children said to have been taken by our leaders," Umar said.

According to one of the leaders of the Civilian JTF, many of the insurgents had been fleeing the Sambisa Forest in the past two weeks and most of them are being arrested and taken to the authorities, except when they resist arrest, in which case they are left with no option but to kill them.

Sambisa forest is notorious for serving as a perfect hide-out for Boko Haram fighters. Some days back, the Nigerian army killed no fewer than 70 suspected Boko Haram members fleeing into Sambisa after their deadly attack on three villages in Borno.
