Brendan Rodgers has agreed the "framework" to extend his contract as Liverpool manager.
The Nothern Irish boss says he will pen down a new deal once the outgoing season has been concluded.
"I've obviously been in discussions with the club and there's the framework of a deal in place," said Rodgers.
"But I've always said it will be the end of the season. I want nothing to detract from what has been a great season for ourselves."

The Anfield club, who are in line for their best Premier League finish since the 2009 season, are prepared to reward their manager for transforming the club to a title contender this season.
The 'Reds' trail favourites Manchester City by two points going into the final games of the season on Saturday. They let slip a 3-0 lead at Crystal Palace's Selhurst Park on Monday night to draw 3-3.
Rodgers had conceded the title to Man City following that disappointing draw, but has since said they will "fight to the very end" in the title race.
"We have had a remarkable season," he added. "The players have put Liverpool on the world map again.
"To finish second to the richest team in world sport shows the progress we have made."
The Merseyside outfit hosts Newcastle United on the final day of the season and will welcome back midfielder Jordan Henderson, who has served a three-match ban, following his sending off in the 3-2 victory over Manchester City at Anfield.
