Less than 5 weeks before the 2014 FIFA World Cup kicks-off in South American nation of Brazil, the Super Eagles of Nigeria have been boosted ahead of their camping as they have now moved one place in the latest FIFA world ranking. The Nigerian team, coach by Stephen Keshi who were ranked 45th in March ranking, are now ranked 44th in the FIFA ranking for the month of April released from the world governing body's headquarters in Zurich Switzerland some hours ago. Despite polling a total of 631 points on the current log, Nigeria's position however remained unchanged in Africa, as they are still ranked in sixth position behind Cape Verde who are ranked fifth on the continent. The top four positions in Africa remained unchanged with: Côte d'Ivoire, Egypt, Algeria and Ghana are the top ranked teams on the continent respectively. In the World ranking, Spain,Germany and Portugal remained the three top ranked teams. Hosts of the world cup, Brazil, moved up two places as they are now the fourth best team in the world, while Honduras moved two places to now rank 30th. With a series of friendly games lined up for the Super Eagles before the World Cup holding from 12 June to 13 July, football analysts believe Nigeria could continue its rise on the table if they post good outings in the friendly matches before the next ranking comes out. Nigeria play Scotland at Fulham's Craven Cottage Stadium in England on 28th of May. * Nigeria's Super Eagles are expected to shine in Brazil Below is a part of the ranking log: RnkTeamPts+/- Pos 1Spain14600 2Germany13400 3Portugal12450 4Brazil12102 5Colombia1186-1 6Uruguay1181-1 7Argentina1178-1 8Switzerland11610 9Italy1115010Greece1082 011England1043 012Belgium1039 013Chile1037 1 14USA1015-115Netherlands967 016France935 017Ukraine913 018Russia903 019Mexico877 020Croatia871 021Côte d'Ivoire830 022Scotland825 023Denmark819 024Egypt798 025Bosnia and Herzegovina795 025Sweden795 025Algeria795 028Ecuador794 029Slovenia787 030Serbia759 030Honduras7592 32Romania756-133Armenia750 034Costa Rica748 035Panama739 036Czech Republic731 037Iran715 038Ghana713 039Turkey711 040Austria673 041Venezuela666 042Peru665 142Cape Verde Islands665 044Nigeria631 1 45Hungary623-146Slovakia616 047Japan613 047Wales613 049Tunisia597 050Cameroon583 051Guinea580 052Finland578 053Uzbekistan577 054Montenegro555 055Korea Republic551 155Norway551 1 55Paraguay551-158Iceland546 059Mali545 059Australia545 061Burkina Faso528 0 Do you see us winning the Scots considering the likes of Ike Uche, Taiye Taiwo, Brown Ideye and Kalu Uche are not in the provisional squad released by Keshi on Tuesday's night
