Manchester United, PSG&Arsenal To Battle For 40m Rated Karim Benzema
The Daily Mailreports that Real Madrid will listen to offers from clubs interested in signing Karim Benzema in the summer.
Benzema, who has scored 22 goals for Madrid this season was linked with a move to the Emirates in the last transfer window, but had to turn down a move. The player alongside Angel di Maria and Mesut Ozil were subject of enquiries from Arsenal during the last summer window, but only Ozil made the move to London.
Arsenal could renew their interest in his signature considering the fact that Wenger continues to admire his style of play. However, The Daily Mail reports that Arsenal are not the only club interested in the player’s signature as other clubs are also monitoring situation of things.
A fee of £40 Million was quoted in the report that also named clubs like Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, and Manchester United among other clubs interested in the player’s signature.
Madrid who also want to bring in a replacement, have continued to eye Liverpool’s Luis Suarez and Sergio Aguero of Manchester City among targets they hope to sign in the summer. The Spanish club hopes to use money raised from the sale of Benzema to fund the transfer of either Suarez or Aguero who could both command huge transfer fees.
Arsenal need a player of Benzema’s class to challenge for the Premier League title next season, and could be set to go all out for his signature with a war chest of £100 Million made available to the boss by the board.
Benzema did not start the current season on the high as he came under the spotlight due to his inability to hit form. He was booed on a couple of occasions with fans calling for the manager to axe him from the first team. He however, shook off the pressure that came with not being able to score early in the season, and is now firing on all cylinders.
In last week’s Champions League semi-final match played at the Santiago Bernabeu, the 26 year old striker scored Madrid’s only goal against Bayern Munich.
What do you think about Benzema coming to the Emirates?
