Lagos Criminal Syndicate Uses Little Girl Suffering From Cancer To Get Rich'

Lagos State police arrested 6 members of the criminal syndicate, who were using a 2-year-old girl suffering from cancer, to get profit in the metropolis. Police of Festac town are still searching for the group mastermind Samuel Ekpendu, Leadership reports. One of the suspects, Chukwuka Eze, during the interrogation lamented that he had quit his cart pushing job because of the money issue. "I was making small amount of money from cart pushing until I met my master, Samuel Ekpendu who told me we could make a lot of money by using children afflicted with strange ailments such as cancer and epilepsy etc... We were lucky to see two year old Chinasa who had mouth and eye cancer in Okija, Anambra State." Having told the girl's parents that they were representatives of a non-governmental organisation caring for the sick, the men took the child and her mother upon the father's consent. The suspect confessed that they were making N30,000 daily and paying N20,000 to their "director". Other expenses included N6,000 for accommodation and N1,000, which they gave to the girl's mother for feeding.
