3 Things That Will Correct Your Website's Google Penguin Issues

It's a brave new frontier and we all have Google to thank for it. Quality and updating are what the whole thing really boils down to. What's most telling is that these goals and their requirements have always been in place. Not only should your linking be diverse, your marketing should be as well. The one thing I've heard and is still true is you are always one Google algorithm update away from oblivion. It's particularly true if you take part in search marketing and keep all of your eggs in one basket. Diversity is incredibly important and that includes making sure that your content includes it too. It's important to encourage sharing on your site and the best way to do this is by employing a variety of formatting when it comes to your content. Anything resembling spam of any kind has a target on it from Google. One somewhat chronically fuzzy area concerns site wide links. This type of link is typically found in the footer area either in it or just above it. When it comes to linking this kind of shotgun approach is pretty common. You're just asking to get into trouble if you make these links identical site wide. So you will need to take them down or keep them from being 100% site wide. If this is an area you want to use for linking, make sure that the links aren't identical. Obviously it isn't a good idea to repeat your anchor text with these links either. Google won't lower your anchor text's value for your backlinks unless you've overdone it. Where your off-page optimization is concerned, anchor text is still incredibly important. Even though, at the time of this article's writing, Penguin is still really new, there are still some quite averse reactions to it on various corners of the Internet. The thing that you need to do is keep your wits about you and make sure that you have the most important facts. You still have all sorts of options when it comes to your anchor text. For proof, spend some time looking at your raw server logs; you'll see that the vast majority of the keywords people are using aren't those "high value" keywords you originally thought were so important. You can do many things post Google Penguin to protect your website and online assets. You also know that you have no choice in the matter even if some sites were hurt and were apparently doing nothing wrong. That is just the way it is with Google's updates. Although we have touched on a few things in this article, there are so many more things to learn.
